The Color and Proportion: Shadows and Reflections course was taught remotely during the Covid pandemic to a group of BA+MFA students from different design and art disciplines. The Color and Proportion course, normally taught in person, had to be completely reconceived for the remote context. SILK VS. POLYESTER: I invented this exercise to help students practice seeing and distinguishing the colors of material texture: they first created simple sculptures out of two blue pieces of organza, one - silk, and the other - polyester, and then translated those sculptures into a 2-D colored paper composition.
